Charles Baby Duck Ribble Talbert, 56, husband of Janet (Widner) Talbert, of 110 North Hancock Street, Craigsville passed away Friday, (October 23, 2009) from injuries he sustained from an automobile accident.
Mr. Talbert was born on September 22, 1953 in Giles County, Virginia a son of the late Emory Lane and Mary Loraine (Chewning) Talbert.
Charles attended the Craigsville Church of God of Prophecy and was employed with the Cold Springs Correctional Center with over 35 years of service. He was a lover of animals and the outdoors, he enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends as well as hunting, fishing and camping.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Charles J. and Shelby J. Widner.
He is the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving in addition to his wife to whom he married on January 12, 1987 are two sons, Travis Ribble Talbert and Todd Charles Talbert, both of Craigsville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Tonya Antoinette Sarver and her husband Danny Ray of Bland, VA and Melanie Crystal McGhee of Princeton, WVA; a step-son, Timothy Daniel Kehrer, Jr. of Craigsville; a step-daughter, Ginger (Kehrer) McLain and her husband Don Allen of Raphine; six grandchildren, Charles E. McGhee, III, Brooklyn K. McLain, Caleb Allen McLain, Daniel Douglas Kehrer, Kendra Leeann Kehrer and Evan Gage Sarver and a number of cousins and many special friends also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2009 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Terry Atkins and Rev. Michael Herring.
Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery in Goshen.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening, October 26, 2009 in the funeral home and at other times the residence of his brother-in-law James and Candance Widner, 190 West Railroad Avenue, Craigsville.
Active pallbearers will be James Widner, Charles Widner, Steve Carper, Chris Harris, Billy Fridley and Danny Sawyer.
Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Sprouse, Ralph Corbin, Carl White and Danny Grimm.
