Charles Herbert Reed, 87, widower of Beatrice Ann (Harding) Reed
of Princeton Lane in Fishersville passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at his residence.
Mr. Reed was born in Fayette, New York on September 5, 1933, a son of the late Dayton C. and Frances (VanPatten) Reed.
Mr. Reed was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church and a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean War. He retired from Valley Precision Fabricators, Inc. and prior to retirement he worked for American Can Company where he was employed for thirty-three years. He enjoyed hunting, camping and was a member of Circle 8 Square Dance Club.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Reed was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah A. Reed; two brothers, Vann Reed and Sanford Simmons; a sister, Rebekah Wagner; and a granddaughter, DeAnna Becker.
Surviving is a son, James "Jim" Reed of Whitney Point, New York; a daughter, Vanessa Lynn Becker of Victor, New York; a grandchild, Paige Reed; two brothers, Robert Reed of Tampa, Florida and Clifford Simmons of Youngstown, New York; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
