Charles McKinley Bait Hostetter, 87, widower of Annie (Campbell) Hostetter of 1272 Buffalo Gap Hwy, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at his residence.
Mr. Hostetter was born December 14, 1922 in Rockbridge County, son of the late Andrew Thomas and Carrie Cecil (Clark) Hostetter.
Kenny was retired from Stillwater Mills and served his country in
the United States Navy.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Hostetter was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Lee Kenny Hostetter; a brother, William D. Hostetter and a sister, Mary Dudley.
Survivors include his daughter, Jeannie Hostetter; two brothers, Henry Hostetter and Robert Lee Hostetter both of Crimora; three sisters, Effie Sweet of Staunton, Rosetta Sprouse of Craigsville and Mabel Riley with whom he made his home in Swoope; a granddaughter, Beth Hostetter; one great-granddaughter and many special friends also survive.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening, April 15, 2010 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton and other times at the home of his sister, Mabel Riley, 1272 Buffalo Gap Hwy, Swoope.
A celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 16, 2010 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Harold L. Wade.
Burial will follow in the Little River Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Goshen.
Active pallbearers will be Bobby Burke, James Lawhorne, Charlie Wood, Charles Cannody, Talmadge Blackburn, Mike Jolly and Telford Dickie.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Goshen Fire Department.
