Charles William Jubah Giles, 61, husband of Catherine Cathy (Jones) Giles of 1605 Ridgeway Drive passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
Mr. Giles was born December 28, 1953 in Waynesboro, a son of Blanche Agnes (Diggs) Giles and the late Pierce Winston Giles, Sr.
Jubah was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and a graduate of Waynesboro High School. He retired from Invista/DuPont in 2010 after thirty years of service and he looked forward to his monthly retirement meetings at Kathys Restaurant with his co-workers. Charlie enjoyed bowling on the Staunton Bowling Leagues, he loved his family and enjoyed their times together.
In addition to his father, Mr. Giles was preceded in death by a step-son, Michael R. Johnson.
Surviving in addition to his wife of thirty-five years and his mother of Waynesboro, is a step-son, Gerald K. Johnson and his wife Charlotte of Staunton; a brother, Pierce Winston Giles, Jr. and his wife Patricia (Darcus) of Staunton; two step-grandchildren, Jasmine F. Johnson and Amber J. Johnson; special friends and neighbors, Ben and Joyce Zinkhan and a number of additional friends and relatives survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday March 22, 2015 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
A Celebration of life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2015 in the Shiloh Baptist Church, 234 Shiloh Avenue in Waynesboro by Dr. Warne B. Dawkins.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Gerald Johnson, Randy Wells, Russell Wells, Roger Clark, Donnie Dillard and Grafton Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Zinkhan, Richard Powell and Mark Hewitt.
It is suggested those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Shiloh Baptist Church, 234 Shiloh Avenue, Waynesboro VA 22980.
The family expresses a sincere and heartfelt thank you to the Staunton Fire and Rescue, friends and neighbors for their kindness and support.
