Charles "Chuck" Eric Whisman, 57, of Montgomery Road, Staunton passed away Monday, October 4, 2021 at his residence.
Mr. Whisman was born in Staunton, Virginia on October 24, 1963, a son of the late Charles Marshall Whisman and Rhoda Hope (Gilbert) Whisman York.
Chuck attended Calvary Baptist, Village Church in Churchville, and Second Presbyterian where he often played the piano at both Calvary and Village and played the organ at Second Presbyterian. Chuck was a specialist with Miracle-Ear Hearing Aid Center, he enjoyed traveling to the beach with his family, and his love for playing the piano was more than just a job, it was his passion.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Whisman was preceded in death by his step-father, Brower V. York, Jr. and step-mother, Billie F. Whisman.
Surviving are two sons, Charles Nicholas Whisman and his girlfriend, Seidy Lainez of Charlottesville and Nathaniel Scott Whisman of Fishersville; the mother of Chuck's children, Cynthia Roberts Moore of Fishersville; an adopted son, Matthew Colbert of Staunton; a sister, Lorraine "Lori" Annette (Whisman) Caldwell of Stuarts Draft; two uncles, Marcus "Mike" Gilbert and his wife Dorothy of Waynesboro and Ronnie Whisman and his wife Sue of Staunton; two nieces, Hannah Lucas and her husband James and Emily Kling and her husband Kyle; and a number of great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church, 105 Garland Drive, Staunton.
A Celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 11, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church by Pastor Bobby Campbell.
Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery.
