Charles "Chuck" Donald Schneider, 72, of 108 Oakstone Run in Staunton, VA passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at Kings Daughters Community Health and Rehab in Staunton.

Mr. Schneider was born in New York on September 18, 1950, a son of Eleanor (Kiefer) Schneider and the late Charles Schneider.

Chuck retired from Western State Hospital after 25 years of service, and owned Days Gone Bye in the Verona Antique Mall. He enjoyed going to auctions, finding treasures and was a collector of sports memorabilia, especially baseball and the New York Yankees. Chuck was an "Old Soul" who loved traveling the U.S. and lived life to the fullest. After his many adventures, he settled in Virginia where he stayed for the last thirty years of his life. Chuck was caring and especially loved being "Papa" to his grandchildren.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, is a brother, Ken Schneider of Arizona; a sister, Kathi McConnell and her husband Charles "B" of Oregon; three daughters, Kate Newman and her husband Aaron of Virginia, Laura Diaz and her husband Eric of Utah, and Becca Schneider of Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren, Liam Newman, Carson, Ryder, Ayva, Cruz, Koby, and Mateo Charles; his fiancé, Lisa Thompson and his bonus son, Ian Thompson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2022 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, and at other times at the residence.
