Charles Francis "Chuck" Akins, Jr., 54, of Staunton, Virginia passed away Monday, April 5, 2021 at his residence.

Mr. Akins was born in Auburn, New York on July 23, 1966, a son of Charles Francis Akins, Sr. and Gloria Jean (Lunkenheimer) Akins.

Chuck was employed at Daikin as a Supervisor.

Mr. Akins was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert Lunkenheimer; an uncle, Larry Lunkenheimer; and a niece, Allyssa Akins.

Surviving in addition to his parents, are two brothers, Richard J. Akins and Jeffrey A. Akins and his wife, Christina Wilde-Akins; maternal grandmother, Carol Lunkenheimer; a niece, Brynn Akins; a nephew, Kurt Akins; and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date in New York.

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to the Golisano Children's Hospital in Rochester, New York or on behalf of Chuck, in memory of his niece, Allyssa.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
