"Charlie" Moore, Sr.
September 22, 1942 – August 10, 2021
Mr. Charles Everett "Charlie" Moore Sr., age 78 of Tarrytown, GA passed away Tuesday morning, August 10, 2021 at the Treutlen County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Soperton, GA, after a sudden decline of health.
Born in Clifton, VA he was one of seven children born to the late John Estel and Mary Magdaline (Macabee) Moore. Mr. Moore grew up and attended school in Clifton. As an adult he owned various businesses, including TCB Construction in Woodbridge, VA. In 1990 he bought a farm and moved to the Shenandoah Valley where he lived until moving to Tarrytown, GA in 2017.
Mr. Moore enjoyed good coffee, beautiful automobiles, wood working, gun and coin collecting, farming, traveling, pig roasts, and spending quality time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Charles E. Moore Jr. "Chuckie" and three brothers, George, Richard and Gary Moore, all of Virginia.
Mr. Moore leaves behind his wife, Linda Moore, Tarrytown, GA, two sons, John T. Moore (Janet), Stephens City, VA, Philip H. Moore, Stephens City, VA, a daughter, Deborah Keene (Kevin), Belington, WV, two brothers, Bill Moore (Jan), Tarrytown, GA, John Moore (Shirley), Wayne, WV, a sister, MaryAnn Olinger (Harry), Williamsburg, VA, grandchildren, Charlie, Tom, Lauren, John, Faith, Kayla, Chuckie, Jamie, Shania and Machias Keene; four great-grandchildren, Ava, Ida, Parker, and Kayleigh; and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved. He also had four fur babies that he adored: Margie cat, Poopers, Bella, and Thrasher. They were his treasured companions.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, August 16, 2021 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Reverend William "Bill" Trice.
Following the service, Mr. Moore will be laid to rest beside his son in Union Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Churchville.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements with assistance from Sammons Funeral Home, 4201 West Main Street in Soperton, Georgia.
