Cecil Lawrence Fridley, 80, formerly of Holly Lane in Verona passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in the Kings Daughters Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Staunton.
Mr. Fridley was born in Augusta Springs on May 27, 1936, a son of the late Ernest Hankins and Mary (McGraw) Fridley.
Cecil was a veteran of the United States Army, was retired from Cerro Metals in Weyers Cave and after his retirement he worked as a clerk at 7-Eleven in Verona. He was an avid Washington Nationals and University of Virginia fan and enjoyed golf, baseball, and basketball. Mr. Fridley loved his family and spending time with them was his favorite past-time.
In addition to his parents, Cecil was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley F. Hildebrand.
Surviving are twin sons, Gary E. Fridley of Verona and Larry E. Fridley and wife Barbara of Penn Laird; two daughters, Lisa F. Dofflemyer and husband Jeff of Elkton and Gail H. Fridley and significant other Tracy Smith of Churchville; five grandchildren, Melissa Eppard and husband Derik, Lisa Moran, Kalli Fridley, Breanna Dofflemyer, and Khloie Smith; three great grandchildren, Macayla Eppard, Derik Eppard, and McKenna Eppard; a sister, Judy F. Lambert and husband Billy of Staunton; dear friend, Klye Price; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2017 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A celebration of life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Russell Heinrich.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Chad Lambert, Derik Eppard, Kyle Price, Tommy Price, Semi Simmons, and David Moran.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tracy Smith, Raymond Lotts, Everette Pitsenbarger and friends at 7-Eleven.
