Cecil Edward "Eddie" Desper, Jr., 77, husband of Faye West Desper of Stuarts Draft, entered into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at the Shenandoah Hospice House in Fishersville.

Mr. Desper was born in Waynesboro, Virginia on October 20, 1945, the son of the late Cecil Edward Desper and Ellen (Johnson) Desper.

Eddie was a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of Church on the Hill where he was part of "Men on the Hill". He was a man of strong faith and had a love for the Special Disciples. Eddie enjoyed riding motorcycles, watching drag racing and his favorite show "Street Outlaws" with his life-long friend and riding buddy, Roger Moran. He had a special love for children and "to know him was to love him".

In addition to his parents, Mr. Desper was preceded in death by his first wife, Nina (Estep) Desper.

Through his loving marriage to Faye, he gained four children who adored him greatly. He is also survived by a sister, Shirley Cash and her husband Curtis; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; special cousins with whom he shared fond memories with, Janet Fretwell and Shelby Hailey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Church on the Hill.
