Carroll Reese Dooms, 71, husband of Carol Sue (Collins) Dooms of 323 Sharon Lane, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family and sister-in-law, Gloria Dooms.
Mr. Dooms was born on November 3, 1944 in Waynesboro, a son of the late Frank and Elsie Arlene (Claytor) Dooms.
Carroll was self-employed as owner/operator of Dooms Radiator and Welding Shop for forty-years. He enjoyed going to the hunting camp, fishing, woodworking and riding motorcycles.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Dooms was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Wilt and a brother, Jerry W. Dooms.
Surviving in addition to his wife of fifty-two years, are two daughters, Lori Ann Dooms and her boyfriend, Randy Campbell and Penny S. Dooms all of Staunton; a brother, Charlie F. Dooms and his wife Pat of Stuarts Draft; a special sister-in-law, Gloria Dooms of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2016 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2016 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Chaplain Mark A. Westebbe.
Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Randy Campbell, Raymond Campbell, Edgar Campbell, Jr., Richard Dooms, Chris Branham, Chuck Dooms, John Steed and Scott Moneymaker.
The family wishes to express a sincere Thank You to the Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah for the care given to Mr. Dooms during his illness.
