Carolyn J. (Headley) Rexrode, 76, went to her Heavenly Home on March 5, 2021. She was born on January 24, 1945 in Wellington, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life of 35 years, her husband, Melvin Rexrode; her parents, Pauline L. and Harold S. Headley; and a sister, Marlene Headley Crum. She is survived by her step-children, whom she always talked of and loved as her own children, Alicia Rexrode, Karen Hegert, and Melvin Rexrode (Chris); her sisters, Bonnie Stanley, Betty Rifford (George); two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Carolyn graduated from Campus High School in Wichita, Kansas. After graduation, June 3, 1963 she joined the U.S. Army and served and worked for USAITA (United States Army Information Technology Agency) at the U.S. Pentagon until January 3, 2006 when she retired.

She and her husband were active supporters of the Annex United Methodist Church in Staunton, VA. Carolyn loved working with crafts and donating her time and craft projects with her church's Bible School helping the children. She made many cloth children's books for the babies.

They loved to travel in their RV to Outer Banks, North Carolina each summer, and to their favorite Nascar tracks. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter and grandmother. She will truly be missed.

There will be an inurnment at Arlington National Cemetery, on November 8, 2022 at 1:00PM.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
