Carolyn Faye (Early) Swecker, and known to many as Mammaw, 77, widow of Richard C. Dick Swecker passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at her residence.
Mrs. Swecker was born on January 30, 1939 in Weyers Cave, a daughter of the late Ray B. and Thelma (Hawkins) Early.
Carolyn was a member of the West Waynesboro Church of Christ. She was an active member of the Closer Walk Sunday School class, was known to be full of Spit and Vinegar, and a lady with a giving heart. She was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting, flower gardening and feeding the birds.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Swecker was preceded in
death by three brothers, Darrell Early, Verlyn Early and Garnett Early; a sister, Doris Early; and step-grandson, Skip Jenkins.
Surviving is a daughter, Kimberly D. Kim Page and her husband Glenn of Afton; a granddaughter, Taylor Grae Swecker; step-granddaughter, Cristie Weigart; five sisters, Gwendolyn Spitzer of Churchville, Wilma Lee Stuart of McDowell, LaVerne Sowers of Mt. Sidney, Mildred Kaufman of Weyers Cave and Hope Sayre of Mt. Crawford; three special friends, Mary Ann Hall, Helen Knott and Millie Everson; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 6:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016 in the West Waynesboro Church of Christ by Pastor Phil Forehand and Pastor Chad Grondin.
The family will receive friends following the service.
Burial will be private in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
