Carol J. Koiner
STAUNTON
Carol Jeanne (Jones) Koiner, 78, wife of William H. Koiner of 1800 Vinson Street, passed away Friday, January 21, 2011 in the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
Mrs. Koiner was born on October 8, 1932 in Delaware, Ohio a daughter of the late Paul E. and Jean (Wilson) Jones.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tami Fichtner.
Prior to retirement, Carol was employed at the Unifi Company as a creeler in the yarn factory for 9 years, she was an active member of Memorial Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School class. Carol was always willing to help in the kitchen and always looking of a way to help others in need.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are four daughters, Marcia Bruce, Constance Kidd, Debra Yoder and Paula Cochran all of Delaware, Ohio; three step-sons, J.R. Koiner and his wife Cindi of Valley Lee, Maryland, Larry Koiner of Fishersville and Stephen Koiner and his wife Shari of Staunton; one brother Paul A. Johnnie Jones and his wife RoseAnn of Delaware, Ohio; thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, one great great grandson and many dear friends at Memorial Baptist Church also survive.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2011 in Memorial Baptist Church by Pastor Temple D. Myers.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2011 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
Active pallbearers will be Jim Harner, Paul Comes, Steven Koiner, Larry Koiner, Paul Jones, Kenny Haines and Richard Kiracofe.
It is suggested that memorial contributions be made to Memorial Baptist Church, Ministers Discretionary Fund, 225 Taylor Street, Staunton, VA 24401
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
