IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol Ann
Fournier
June 10, 1934 – March 1, 2024
Carol Ann Fournier, 89, of Danielson, Connecticut, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, March 1, 2024, while in Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville, VA.
Carol and her husband Ray of 68 years raised seven children: Karen Suzanne Fournier, John Allen Fournier, Jean Marie Crouse (predeceased), James Leo Fournier (predeceased), Craig Lawrence Fournier (predeceased), Gail Fournier Simmons and Ellen Margaret Fournier.
Carol had a passion for music and theater, attending many Broadway shows and local theater events. She enjoyed playing piano for family and friends, a hallmark of every holiday event.
While living in Kensington, Maryland for most of her life, Carol maintained a close network of friends. Her friendships were the pillars that supported her throughout her life, a testament to the genuine connections she forged.
A loving sister, spouse, mother, grandmother of ten and great-grandmother of three, she also dedicated time to volunteer activities, notably as a volunteer (along with Raymond) at the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, DC. After moving to Shepherdstown, WV, she enjoyed gardening, reading, and solving Washington Post crossword puzzles, especially the most challenging weekend puzzles.
Carol and Raymond lived their final years at The Legacy at North Augusta Assisted Living Facility in Staunton, VA. Raymond predeceased Carol by three years.
She will be interred at Culpepper National Military Cemetery alongside her spouse, a WWII veteran. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2024.
May her spirit dance eternally in the melodies she loved, the gardens she tended, and the love she shared with each one of us.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
