Carla Marie Patterson, 36, of 5810 Colonial Drive, Raleigh, North Carolina passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 at her residence.
Miss Patterson was born on August 3, 1981 in Washington, DC, a daughter of Brenda (Perry) Fisher and step-father, Dr. John A. Fisher.
Carla was a member of the Community United Methodist Church and was in the church choir. She attended Mary Baldwin College for three years and was employed as a social worker with the Wake County Social Services. She enjoyed traveling, singing, dancing, bowling and sports.
Surviving in addition to her parents of Staunton, are two sons, David Wayne Lacks, Jr. and Christopher A. Lacks both of North Carolina; three sisters, Jonita Martin of Florida, Kimberly Kasili of Roanoke, and Faith Francis of Texas; a special friend, Dimitriades McClain of North Carolina; and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2018 in
the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Reverend Reginald A. Early and Reverend Charles Eric Strother.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Dimitriades McClain, Michael Coffee, Jr., Shannon Robinson, Jr., Luke Fry, Eugene Vaughn, Jr., Charles Perry, and Purcell Salisbury.
A reception celebrating Carla's life will be held at the Community United Methodist Church on Cedar Green Road, Staunton following the service.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of her arrangements.
