CARL SEAY HITE
STAUNTON
Carl Seay Hite, 79 of 710 Charles Street, passed away Thursday, (September 25, 2008) in the Augusta Medical Center.
Mr. Hite was born on August 29, 1929 in Highland County, a son of the late William Allen and Bertie Rae (Carpenter) Hite.
Carl was retired from the Staunton Correctional Center as a Carpenter Lead Man. He was an active member of the Staunton Moose Lodge # 1635 and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Lodge # 680.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hite was preceded in death by five brothers, Everett D. Hite, Hugh B. Hite, Lowell G. Hite, William B. Hite and Ernest J. Hite; and three sisters Mildred E. (Hite) Lindsey, Glenna F. (Hite) Christian and Lucy Marie (Hite) Meeks.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda Jean Thompson of Little Rock, Arkansas and Sandra L. Hite of Marietta, Georgia; a brother, Robert W. Hite of Phoenix, Arizona; four grandchildren, Tre` and Angelique Fitzgerald, Barbara and Lanney Thompson; and four great-grandchildren also survive. Also surviving is a special nephew, Hugh (Popeye) Hite of Hot Springs and a cousin Melvin Carpenter and his wife Janice of Staunton.
A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday (September 29, 2008) in the Oaklawn Mausoleum \u0026 Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends this afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Coffman Funeral Home.
