CARL L. BOOTH

Carl Lakeford Lake Booth, 88, husband of Ruth Rebecca (Collins) Booth of 305 Burnley Drive, passed away, Friday morning, (May 8, 2009).
Mr. Booth was born October 14, 1920 in Roanoke, a son of the late Garrett Banks, Sr. and Peggy Magdalene (Bishop) Booth.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his brother, Garrett Banks Booth, Jr.
Mr. Booth was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the American Legion Post # 13. He was owner and operator of Craftons Park, the Texaco Bulk Plant and owner and operator of C.L. Booth and Sons Contractors. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and a past deacon of Olivet Presbyterian.
In addition to his wife of fifty-four years survivors include a son, Daniel Lakeford CL Booth of Staunton; three daughters and a son-in-law, Vickie F. Swanson and her husband Robert of Canton, Georgia, Rebecca B. Becky Cook of Churchville and Melissa Dawn Missy Booth of Staunton; four grandchildren, Zachary Hendrix, Magen McClung, Sparkle Derr and Hillary Cook; two great-grandchildren; Lexia and Layton Derr and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Monday, (May 11, 2009) in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Denny Sites and Robert A. Edwards. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home or other times at his residence.
Active pallbearers will be Philip Brown, Cody Dively, Mark Harris, Loren Harris, Jerry Cook, Raymond Collins and Zachary Hendrix.
Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Brown, Johnny Campbell, Max Lockridge, Charlie Obaugh, Jeff Dietz, Jeff Garza, Skip Collins, Gordon Barlow, Danny Nulty and Dr. McKibbin.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the Augusta County S.P.C.A., 33 Archery Lane, Staunton, Virginia 24401.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive is in charge of his arrangements.
