Candace Elonne Wood-Decker, 35, wife of James Edward
Decker, III formerly of Third Street passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
Mrs. Wood-Decker was born December 12, 1978 in Waynesboro, a daughter of the late Joseph and Yolanda (Redd) Wood.
Candace enjoyed reading, writing poems and short stories. She was a loving mother and a beautiful woman.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Dante Gray of Waynesboro and Cameron Decker of Staunton; a daughter, Jasmine Sharp of Virginia Beach; maternal grandmother, Nannie Redd of Waynesboro; paternal grandparents, Rev. Guy Wood and his wife Patricia of Waynesboro; two brothers, Corbin and Corey; and two sisters, Erica and Christina.
A Memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the New Hope Baptist Church, 112 New Hope Road, McGaheysville, VA by Rev. Ernest Smith.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
