Camilla (Terlizzi) Cacciapaglia, 105, widow of Oronzo Cacciapaglia of 937 Donaghe Street, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012 at her residence.

Mrs. Cacciapaglia was born in Santeramo in Colle, Provincia di Bari, Italy on November 25, 1906. She was the daughter of the late Donato and Anna (Negoziante) Terlizzi and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was united in marriage in Italy with Oronzo Cacciapaglia with whom she shared forty-four years of a blessed union. Her husband, Oronzo preceded her in death on December 19, 1973.

She came to the United States as a bride in 1929, and was a loyal partner to her husband in raising a family with the operation of their restaurant, New York Lunch on South Augusta Street. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.

Camilla received the Ageless Heroes award in May of 2000 for her achievement in Bridging the Generations. This award was presented by Trigon Blue Cross-Blue Shield of Virginia. She was also honored by the Philadelphia Region of the Social Security Administration on her 104th birthday for being a valued recipient of benefits during their 75th Anniversary.

Family members include her sons, James E. and his wife Jane (Zimmerman) Cacciapaglia and Donato A Cacciapaglia all of Staunton; three daughters, Rose Marie Casson, Josephine Anna King and Louise Camilla Bowers and her husband Raymond V. Bowers, III of Fairfield; twelve grandchildren, Camilla Mullins, Donato O. Cacciapaglia, Angela Breeden, David Cacciapaglia, Cynthia (Casson) Arey, Stephen and Thomas Casson, Kathryn (King) Sheets, John and Mark King, John Brett and Robert Matthew Bowers; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, six nieces, one nephew and three nieces in Italy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will he held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2012 in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, by The Rev. Monsignor Andrew Cassin.

The family will receive friends following the service in the church social hall.

Burial will be private in Thornrose Cemetery.

Camillas grandsons will honor their grandmother to serve as pallbearers.
