Calvin Allen Dick Dameron, 77, husband of Josephine (Sours) Dameron, of Deer Haven Lane, Staunton passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at his residence.
Dick was born December 4, 1932 in Stuarts Draft, a son of the late Laurence Randolph and Fannie Marie (Hall) Dameron.
Mr. Dameron retired in 1991 from Zeh Plumbing and Heating, he was also employed by Paul Freed Ford and Obaugh Ford as an auto mechanic. Mr. Dameron also was a Virginia State Trooper following his military service in the United States Air Force. He served his country during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed NASCAR, baseball, fishing, hunting, horseshoes, playing cards and working on small engines.
In addition to his parents Mr. Dameron was preceded in death by a brother, Donnie Lee Dameron.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons and daughters-in-law,
Robert W. Koogler and his wife Tammy of Harrisonburg and Jon A. Dameron and his wife Anita of Churchville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha K. Poole and her husband Thomas and Jan D. Moore and her husband John all of Stuarts Draft; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby R. Dameron and his wife Joan of Chesapeake, Billy R. Dameron and his wife Aileen, Ray Dameron and his wife Doris and Ronnie R. Dameron and his wife Debbie all of Stuarts Draft; a sister-in-law, Shirley Dameron of Afton;
six grandchildren, Matt Koogler, Audra Koogler, Corey Poole, Logan Moore, Luke Dameron and Hannah Dameron and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
A Memorial service will be 7:00 p.m. Friday evening, April 2, 2010
at Finley Memorial Presbyterian Church in Stuarts Draft by Rev. Donald H. LaRue. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
