Bruce Phillip Coppa, 44 of 1414 Aiken Street, passed away Saturday, (November 21, 2009) in the University of Virginia Hospital.
Bruce was born November 17, 1965 in Ravenna, Ohio a son of Dominic John Coppa and the late Jennie Iona (Williams) Coppa.
Mr. Coppa attended Jerusalem Chapel United Brethren Church and prior to his disability, Bruce was employed with Goodyear Tire Company in North Carolina as a mechanic. He was a graduate of Ravenna High School class of 1983, a collector of Civil War memorabilia and a member of the Valley Coin and Relic Club. Bruce enjoyed walking when his health allowed him.
Surviving in addition to his father of Munroe Falls, Ohio is his step-mother, Margaret R. Coppa; Bruces companion and friend of 20 years, Helen R. Robertson of Staunton; one brother, John E. Coppa of Ravenna, Ohio; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Shelia R. Taylor of Ravenna, Ohio and Elizabeth M. Atkinson and her husband, Jeff of Rootstown, Ohio; a step brother, Matthew C. Watkins of Rockwall, Texas and a special close friend and Helens daughter, Susan Cole of Staunton.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2009 in Jerusalem Chapel United Brethren Church by Pastor Denny Sites and Pastor Matt Hann.
The family will receive friends following the service.
