Brenda Gayle (Richardson) Murray, 65, widow of Bruce Allen Murray, Sr. of 551 Calf Mountain Road, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at her residence.

Mrs. Murray was born on June 22, 1949 in Giles County, a daughter of the late Eugene and Beatrice (Robertson) Richardson.

Brenda was a graduate of Riverheads High School and was self-employed as a custodian. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and shopping, especially at Christmas.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Murray was preceded in death by a brother, Marlin Keith Richardson and a step-son, Bruce Allen Murray, Jr.

Survivors include a son, Scott K. Ramsey and his fiance Beverley Wilson of Staunton; two daughters, Christine E. Arey and her husband Jeffrey of Waynesboro and Marla L. Farrar and her fianc T. J. Ailstock; a step-son, Rick Murray of Powhatan; a step-daughter, Jeannie Murray and her partner Sarah Franklin of Chesterfield; two sisters, Rhonda R. Zimmerman and her husband David of Staunton and Katrina R. Campbell and her husband Paul of Greenville; eight grandchildren, Jason Arey, Courtney Arey, Megan Arey, Breckon Farrar, Morgan Arey, Coleman Farrar, Dalton Farrar and Redd Murray; two great-grandchildren, Daelan Daugherty and Levi Arey and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.

A Celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 22, 2015 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Chaplain David Emery.

Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro.

Active pallbearers will be Mrs. Murrays three grandsons, Jason Arey, Coleman Farrar and Dalton Farrar, Jeremy Campbell, Trenton Reid, Chris Daugherty, T.J. Ailstock and Patrick McCrary.
