Brenda Gayle (Hewitt) Sweet, 64, widow of Dennis Lynn Sweet, of Stuarts Draft, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at her residence.

Brenda was born in Waynesboro, Virginia on June 23, 1960, a daughter of the late Mack Hewitt, Jr. and Edna Mae (Lucas) Hewitt.

Prior to her retirement from Wilson Trucking, Brenda worked at Virginia Metalcrafters for more than 30 years.

Surviving, is a daughter, Amanda D. Sweet of Stuarts Draft; a "like a daughter", Erica Montoya; three sisters, Rebecca A. Neese of Afton, Peggy S. Huffman and her husband, William Shatzer of Waynesboro, and Patsy E. Ramsey and her husband, Tim of Harriston; a brother, Mack "Pete" Hewitt, III of Waynesboro; two grandchildren, Gage J. Sweet and Gunner S. Hewitt; special friends, Floyd and Elaine Montoya; and her beloved pets, "Sarge" and "Cloie".

In honoring Brenda's wishes, there will be no services.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
