Brenda Kay (Dickerhoof) Cox, 58, of 15 Pruchnic Lane, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at her residence.

Mrs. Cox was born on January 28, 1960 in Staunton, a daughter of the late Harris Edwards and Helen Gertrude (Leslie) Dickerhoof.

Brenda was retired from Cox Transportation as a truck driver, and she enjoyed playing games on her cell phone, and drinking coffee.

Surviving is her companion of twenty-eight years, Joseph Allen "Joe" Sheffer of Verona; two daughters, Kelly S. Cox of Raphine and Jenny M. Cox of Lyndhurst; three step-sons, Jason Allen Sheffer, Joshua Lloyd and Joseph Carter Graybill; two step-daughters, Amanda Mae Sheffer and Heather Sue Nicole Morgan; two sisters, Patricia Buchanan and her husband Ricky, Sr. of Staunton and Elizabeth Altizer of Weyers Cave; twelve grandchildren, Logan Cox, Mackenzie Cox, Christopher Thompson, Aiden Kiser, Nevaeh Vandevander, Charles Wood, Christine Morgan, Jaiden Wood, J.R. Morgan, Jorja Sheffer, Kole Wright, and Sera Sheffer; nieces and nephews, Pamela Marcum, Ricky Buchanan, Jr., Rebecca Woodzell, and Jonathan "J.W." Trayer; great-nieces and nephews, Carl Shifflett, Jr., Brandon Shifflett, Kristen Crawford, and Justin Kyle; and a great-great nephew, Hunter Crawford.

A Memorial Service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2018 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Lewis E. Knight.

The family will receive friends following the service.
