Brenda Diane (Beal) Reynolds, 86, of Crozet, Virginia formerly of Greensboro, North Carolina, passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. She was born on August 5, 1939 to the late Joseph Allen Beal and Annie Elizabeth (May) Beal in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Brenda was a graduate of the first nursing class of the Women's College of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. After graduating in 1959, she married Johnny Reynolds who preceded her in death. Brenda was a proud military wife, traveling to 12 different countries while living in Rota Spain with her family for six years. After returning to the United States, her family eventually found their forever home in Crozet, Virginia. Brenda continued her nursing career at the University of Virginia Medical Center where she retired.
Brenda enjoyed taking classes and learning about the different religions of the world. She also loved animals, especially dogs.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Reynolds was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph John Beal.
She is survived by her sons, Allen Reynolds (Cheryl) of McGaheysville, VA and Scott Reynolds (Linda) of Fredericksburg, VA; grandchildren, Parker Reynolds (Savannah) of Lexington, KY, Reilly Reynolds Fio (Jacob) of Martinez, CA and Jansen Reynolds of Fredericksburg, VA; a great-granddaughter, Gemma Reynolds of Lexington, KY; a sister-in-law, Sue Reynolds Byron of Murrells Inlet, SC; and a brother, Randall Beal of Pleasant Garden, NC.
The family would like to extend its utmost appreciation for Brenda's loving care team, Sister Mae Veney, Mikki Veney, Teresa Opie, Nakisha Carter, Kissy Rush and Marion Burgess.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Brenda's honor can be made to the SPCA.
A private ceremony will be held in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
