Bobby L. Rife
STAUNTON:
Bobby Lee Rife, 74, husband of Faye (Smith) Rife, of 421 G Street passed away Sunday, September 25, 2011 in Fishersville.
Mr. Rife was born January 9, 1937 in Staunton, a son of the late Robert T. and Alma (Smith) Rife.
Bobby loved his Lord and had a heart and desire for winning souls for the Lord. He was an Elder and member of the Light House Church, he was a reporter and free lance writer for the Staunton News Leader, and was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed the outdoors and writing.
In addition to his wife of 23 years, he is survived by a daughter, April D. Rife of Charlottesville; two step-daughters Judy Davis of Middlebrook and Dana K. Bost of Winston Salem, NC; one sister Beverley (Rife) Gilbert and her husband John of Staunton; three grandchildren Morgan Brooking, Devon Hollins and Casey Bost and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at the Lighthouse Church in Churchville by Pastor Harold L. Wade.
The family will receive friends 7:00-9:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, September 27, 2011 at the Lighthouse Church or following the service or the residence at other times.
