Bobby Gene Campbell, 76, widower of Barbara Jane (Via) Campbell,
of 500 C Street and formally of Parkhill Road passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at his residence.
Mr. Campbell was born May 3, 1934 in Staunton, a son of the late William Bernard and Margaret Estelle (Clatterbaugh) Campbell.
Bobby was in the United State Air Force during the Korean Conflict, a member of Marquis Memorial United Methodist Church and a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie No. 680 of Staunton. He loved racing at Eastside in Waynesboro.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, William Tommy Campbell and two great-grandchildren, Dalton Hupman and Haley Campbell. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Bernie Campbell and his wife Pam of Atlanta, GA, Rev. Bobby A. Campbell and his wife Patti of Churchville, Wayne S. Campbell of Mt. Solon and Raider W. Campbell and his fiance, Kimberly Helmick of Verona; a daughter and son-in-law, Fay Eutsler and her husband Michael of Staunton; twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren also survive.
A graveside service will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 23, 2010 in Thornrose Cemetery by Bobbys son, Pastor Bobby A. Campbell.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010 in the Coffman Funeral Home and other times at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Fay and Michael Eutsler, 108 Miller Street, Apt. 49, Staunton.
Active pallbearers will be Richie Campbell, Scottie Campbell, J.C. Bryant, Tommy Campbell, Dustin Campbell, Keith Slagle, Bernie Campbell and Denny Lowery.
