Bobby L. Arehart, 68, husband of Brenda (Wade) Arehart of Fairfield, passed away Friday, October 3, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Arehart was born June 19, 1946 in Fairfield, a son of the late O. S. Ted and Eloise Arehart.
Bobby was retired from Virginia Military Institute after 40 years of service. He was an Elder of the Old Providence A.R.P. Church and a Funeral Service Assistant at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Arehart Patterson.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Kristen (Arehart) Staton and husband Mike of Fairfield; a son, Michael Rea Arehart and fiance Heather Dean of Steeles Tavern; a sister-in-law, Martha Raye McClure and husband Tom of Roanoke; a special cousin, John P. Arehart and wife Karleen of Greenville; and a number of nieces, nephews, and many cousins also survive.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2014, in the Old Providence A.R.P Church by Rev. H. Max Bolin. The family will receive friends following the service in Providence Hall.
Burial will be private in the church cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wes Robinson, Richard Clemmer, Eugene McIlwee, David Lotts, Martin Chittum, Thomas Riley, Barton Dick, Richard Whitesell, and Joe Fauber.
It is suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Old Providence ARP Church, c/o Jackie Coffey, 6014 Lee Jackson Highway, Raphine, VA 24472.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
