Obituary

Billie Richard Fitzgerald, Sr., 86, husband of Sara Loretta (Priest) Fitzgerald of 701 Carann Street, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Fitzgerald was born on December 13, 1930 in Audubon, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Russell Brown and Reatha Etta (Fitzgerald) Fitzgerald.
Billie was a member of Victory Worship Center where he enjoyed the Real Mens Ministry, and was retired from the Shenandoah Shared Hospital Services as a Mobile Transporter. He enjoyed collecting cars, trains, traveling, working puzzles, making gospel CDs for his family and friends and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Russell Fitzgerald; a sister, Frances Beatrice Oxendine; and a great-grandson, Joseph Jordan.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 54 years are three sons, Richard L. Harlow and his wife Laura of Staunton, Daniel J. Priest of Douglasville, Georgia and Billie R. Fitzgerald, II of Staunton; three daughters, Faye F. West and her husband Cecil and Joyce F. Manley both of Staunton and Sara Yvonne Fitzgerald of Beech Island, South Carolina; two sisters, Gloria Gibson of Greenville and Margie Fields and her husband Dan of Waynesboro; twenty-three grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2016 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Victory Worship Center by Pastor Ray Eppard and Pastor Terry Kent.
Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Brooks Manley, Kenneth Gray, Hunter Fitzgerald, Jason Peters, Christopher E. Rye, Jacob Fitzgerald and Deon Gibbons.
Honorary pallbearer will be Cecil West.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to Victory Worship Center, C/O Building Fund, 200 Hammond Lane, Staunton, Virginia 24401.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
