Beverley Ann (Rife) Gilbert, 78, wife of John Everett Gilbert of 13 Weston Drive passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013 at her home.
Mrs. Gilbert was born August 31, 1934 in Staunton, a daughter of the late Alma (Smith) Rife.
Beverley retired in 1992 from Staunton Insurance Agency with 40 years of service as a secretary and insurance agent. She was of the Presbyterian faith. Beverley enjoyed her family, spending time at the beach, cooking and reading. She was an avid Virginia Tech fan.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Gilbert was preceded in death by her brother and his wife, Bob and Faye Rife.
In addition to her husband of 56 years, Mrs. Gilbert is survived by two daughters, Ginger G. Mace and husband T.G. of Swoope and Suzette G. Anthony and husband Mark of Staunton; a son, Grayson Gilbert and wife Lori of Lawrenceville, GA; six grandchildren Amy Davenport and husband Tony, Amanda Mace, Angela Angie Mace, Trent Anthony, Matthew Gilbert, and Erin Gilbert; three great grandchildren, Anthony Davenport, Brooke Davenport and Brittany Davenport and a niece, April Rife.
A Memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Temple Myers.
The family will receive friends following the service.
Burial will be private in Augusta Memorial Park.
