Betty Jane (Rankin) Hutchens, 82, of 3001 Westside Drive passed away Friday, June 26, 2015 in Augusta Health, Fishersville.
Ms. Hutchens was born on October 3, 1932 in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Raymond Preston and Jessie Rebecca (Nutty) Rankin.
Ms. Hutchens was a charter member of Bethany Presbyterian Church where she had served as an elder. Betty retired from J.C. Penney as a Merchandise Assistant, she loved her family and was always willing to go the extra mile.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Hutchens was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Lynwood and Charles Rankin.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas R. Hutchens and his wife Sandra of Gastonia, NC and Larry D. Hutchens and his wife Debi of Perry, GA; a daughter, Karen E. Hutchens of Staunton; six grandchildren, Mandi Crowder and her husband Jason, Cyndi Duckworth and her husband Steven, Ben Hutchens and his wife Katherine, Matt Hutchens and his wife Candice, John Hutchens and his wife Lauren and Tim Hutchens and his wife Marla; nine great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 29, 2015 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2015 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Les LaPrade.
Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be her grandsons, Ben, Matt, John and Tim Hutchens and Steven Duckworth and Victor Morzark.
