Betty Jane Hoover's Obituary

Betty Jane Hoover, 66, of 318 Marr Street passed away Monday, February 3, 2014 at her residence.

Miss Hoover was born January 18, 1948 in Staunton, a daughter of the late Emory Houston and Virginia Frances (Gwin) Hoover.

Betty was retired from Perdue Farms in Bridgewater on the product line. She like working puzzles, reading, watching television and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a brother, Tucker Hoover; and four sisters, Mary Hoover, Ruth Woods, Margie Landrum and Nellie Woods.

Surviving is a son, Michael Wayne Hoover, Sr. and wife Leslie of Staunton; two brothers, William Bill Hoover and wife Betty of Staunton and Houston Hoover of Cleveland, OH; two sisters, Shirley Welcher of Craigsville and Ann Hartman of Staunton; two grandchildren, Michael W. Hoover, II and Wyatt A. Hoover; caregiver and special great nephew, David Hoover; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 7, 2014 by Dr. H. Wray Sherman, III in Thornrose Cemetery.
