Betty Latricia (Dennison) Barker, 77, wife of Samuel Phillip Barker of Mine Branch Road, Crimora, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at her residence.

Mrs. Barker was born in Staunton, Virginia on November 28, 1943, a daughter of the late Rudolph Holt Dennison and Frances Grace (Potter) Gilbert.

Betty was a member of Linden Heights Baptist Church and the Faithful Followers Sunday School class. She retired from American Safety Razor with over 30 years of service as a machine operator and Betty enjoyed feeding her birds and flower gardening.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barker was preceded in death by an infant son, Edward Boyd Thompson; two brothers, Roger W. Dennison and David Gilbert; and a sister, Wanda D. Mays.

Surviving in addition to her husband of forty-two years, are two sons, Edward Lee Thompson and his wife Sherry of Crimora and Michael A. Thompson and his girlfriend Donna Tisdale of Stuarts Draft; two daughters, Tammy T. Cale and her husband Alan of Staunton and Donna M. Thompson of Princeton, Kentucky; two step-children, James W. Barker and his wife Min Yong of Maryland and Susan M. Shiflett and her husband Ronnie of Orange, Virginia; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and special friends, MaryAnn, Alice, Nancy, Eddie and her church family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 29, 2021 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

A Celebration of life will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 30, 2021 Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Luke B. Smith

Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
