Betty Gray (Conner) Allen, 85, widow of Kenneth Leslie Allen, of 37 Old B \u0026 O Road, went to be with her Lord, Sunday, March 22, 2015, at her residence.
Mrs. Allen was born May 3, 1929 in Winston-Salem, NC, a daughter of the late Everett Curtis and Ethel Marie (Caudle) Conner.
Betty was a member of Mt. Vernon Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed reading, visiting with her family, cooking and she enjoyed bird watching.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard Conner, Clyde Conner and Ray Conner; a sister, Phyllis Moran; and a very close and dear friend, Mary Lou Taylor.
Surviving are three sons, Kenneth Gary Allen and his wife Tammie of Spottswood, Michael E. Allen of Churchville and Christopher Lee Allen of Spottswood; six brothers, Curtis M. Conner of Fishersville, Roy Conner of Stuarts Draft, Steve Conner of Waynesboro, Eugene Conner of South Hill, SC, Douglas Conner of Broadway and David Conner of Waynesboro; four sisters, Maxine Kinder of Waynesboro, Doris Fitzgerald of Stuarts Draft, Ann Arbogast of Circleville, WV and Kay Cook of Waynesboro; nine grandchildren, Billy Allen, C.J. Allen, Cassandra Sorrells, Josh Sorrells, Michelle Hearn, Daniel Allen, Susan Southers, Crystal Guthrie and Heather Bell; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; a number of nieces and nephews; and many special friends and extended family members.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at her residence.
A Graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2015 at Oaklawn Memory Gardens by Pastors Randy Simmons and Gerald Senger.
Active pallbearers will be Chuck Wiseman, Mike Wiseman, Timmy Jordon, Josh Sorrells, Chris Allen, Dustin Cason, Mike Hearn and Billy Allen.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and friends attending the service.

The family would like to express a sincere thank you to Mrs. Allens caregivers and friends, Angela Wiseman, Teresa Cason, Cheri Sorrells, Christina Sorrells, Marisha Williams and the staff and nurses of the Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah.
