Betty Jo (Price) Casiday, 87, widow of Trenton Burwell "Hoppy" Casiday of 201 Red Oaks Drive, passed away Friday, June 8, 2018 in Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mrs. Casiday was born on May 6, 1931 in Rockbridge County, Virginia.
Betty was an active member of Second Presbyterian Church, where she volunteered with Meals on Wheels and the Christmas Toy Drive. She enjoyed being a homemaker, reading and traveling.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilmer Carl Varner, Sr.; and a brother, Wilton McCray.
Surviving is a son, W. Carl Varner, Jr. and his wife Christine of Accokeek, Maryland; two step-sons, Phillip Casiday and his wife Delores of Swoope, and Bruce A. Casiday of Churchville; three step-daughters, Brenda C. Werner and her husband Douglas of Fishersville, Terry Mawyer and her husband Joe of Swoope, and Connie Wade of Staunton; two grandsons, W. Carl Varner, III and James Edward Varner; three great-grandsons, Trenton James Varner, Dylan Edward Varner and Dominic Elias Varner; a brother, Willis McCray of Aylett, VA and a sister, Costella Yurkovich of Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2018 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2018 in the Second Presbyterian Church by Pastor Clay Sterrett.
Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Douglas E. Werner, W. Carl Varner, III, James Edward Varner, Bruce Casiday, Charles A. Dull and Robert Casiday.
