Bettie Ann (Cason) Marks, 76, widow of Samuel W. Marks, formerly of Swoope, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2014, at Augusta Health of Fishersville.
Mrs. Marks was born on September 10, 1937, in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Stuart Franklin and Hazel May (Davis) Cason.
Bettie was a member of the Lighthouse Church and was retired from Genicom as a caf worker. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, Staunton Chapter #1439, the Churchville Seniors and she loved the outdoors, liked working in the garden, mowing and she enjoyed reading.
In addition to her parents and her first husband and father of her children, Guy Wilson Earhart, Sr., Bettie was preceded in death by three brothers, Lloyd Cason, Robert Cason, and Stuart Cason; and a sister, Bertha Woodson.
Surviving is a son, Guy Wilson Earhart, Jr. and his wife, Linda of Stevens City; two daughters, Peggy James and her fianc, Jamie Sheets of Weyers Cave, and Brenda Ferrell and her husband, Roger of Huntington, ID; a step-son, Jeff Marks and his wife, Shelia of Lyndhurst; eight grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren, also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A Graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 8, 2014 at Oaklawn Memory Gardens by Pastor Harold Wade.
