Bessie Mae (Sprouse) Edmond, 72, widow of Ira Philip Edmond, Jr. of 420 S. Wayne Avenue, went to be with her Heavenly Father, Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at her residence.
Mrs. Edmond was born on July 15, 1945 in Staunton, a daughter of the late Lloyd Franklin Sprouse and Dorothy Francis (Shover) Rankin.
Bessie was retired from Staunton City Schools as a bus driver. She loved her family dearly.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son-in-law, Thomas Buchanan.
Surviving is a son, Billy R. Botkin, Jr. and his wife, Rebecca of Haysi; two daughters, Gloria Davis and her husband Frederick of Waynesboro and Lila Buchanan of Mount Crawford; two sisters, Shirley Hall and her husband Bill of Staunton and Dorothy Jenkins and her husband Willie of Bath County; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; two special friends, Connie Janey and Nancy Smith; and four beloved pets, Clyde, Snowball, Foxy, and Lola.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
