Benny Franklin Craun, 74, widower of Gail (Colvin) Craun of Staunton, passed away Friday, November 2, 2018 in Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville.
Mr. Craun was born on April 14, 1944 in Harrisonburg, Virginia, a son of the late Cecil F. and Dorothy (Koontz) Craun.
Benny was a member of the Verona United Methodist Church, he enjoyed assisting in the Church Food Pantry and helping with the Bees Missions. He enjoyed woodworking, steam engines and tinkering with tractors. In his spare time, Benny would use his talents in making things that he would sell. He enjoyed his time outdoors and working in the garden.
Surviving is a son, Ashley C. Craun and his wife Shari B.; a grandson, Bradley Thomas Craun all of Staunton; a sister, Judy Ann Craun of Waynesboro; a brother-in-law, Samuel Colvin and his wife Gale of Craigsville; a sister-in-law, Joyce Tuttle and her husband Bill of Millboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in the Verona United Methodist Church by Pastor Bob Weeks.
A private graveside service will be held in the Springhill Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
