Benjamin Gideon Legg, 75, widower of Janet Gail (Cavendish) Legg of 396 Linden Drive, passed away Monday, September 6, 2010 in Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mr. Legg was born March 3, 1935 in Leander, West Virginia, a son of the late Cranston Howard and Ruth Irene (Snodgrass) Legg.
Mr. Legg was a member of Linden Heights Baptist Church and was formerly employed by Carlyn Place Condominiums in Arlington, VA. He was a big family man and enjoyed spending time with those he loved. He also enjoyed arts and crafts, Blue Grass and Gospel music.
In addition to his parents and wife, who passed away October 5, 2009, Mr. Legg was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Alice Day and Laila Link.
Survivors include a son, Benjamin Ben Scott Legg and his fiance Hazel Ellen Cornelius of Staunton; a daughter, Lori Ann Kemp and husband Richard of Herndon; two brothers, Robert Legg of WVA and Charles Legg of AZ; a sister, Patricia Keffer of FL and two grandchildren, Richard Shane Kemp and HazelEllen Faye Legg also survive.
A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 9, 2010 in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley, West Virginia by Preacher Jack Eades and Rev. Harold Pete Campbell.
The family will receive friends at the home of his son, Benjamin Ben Legg, 368 Grandon Road in Staunton at any time.
It is suggested that memorial contribution be made to the Alzheimers Association, Central \u0026 Western VA. Chapter, 250 East Market Street, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
