Benjamin W. Coiner
STAUNTON:
Benjamin Warren Benny Coiner, 69, devoted husband of Lisa Diane (Wells) Coiner of 97 Stingy Hollow Road passed away Monday, May 16, 2011 at his residence.
Mr. Coiner was born June 11, 1941 in Augusta County, Virginia
a son of Myrtle May (Desper) Coiner and the late Elmer Warren Coiner.
Benjamin served the United States in the Army during the Vietnam Conflict serving in the 7th Calvary Division. He was employed for forty-five years as a Fiscal Technician for VDOT, a member of Olivet Presbyterian Church, the Staunton Jaycees, a volunteer for the Humanitarians of Pet Education and the Frontier Culture Museum. Benny enjoyed attending the Staunton Braves Baseball games, he loved gardening, building and working with his hands. Benny worked hard to support his family in which he was very devoted to and he never met a stranger.
In addition to his mother of Staunton, VA and his wife of forty-one years he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Neal W. Coiner and his wife Jennifer and Aaron W. Coiner all of Staunton; a brother, Harold E. Coiner of Staunton; a sister, Fay C. Jennings of Madison Heights; two grandsons, William P. and Alexander W. Coiner; three step-grandchildren, Jessica Lynn, Dale Allen and Zachery Taylor; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
A Memorial Service will be conducted 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Harry Johns.
The family will receive friends following the service.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
