Barry Morton Fretwell, 67, of Howardsville Turnpike, Stuarts Draft, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at his residence.

Mr. Fretwell was born in Waynesboro, Virginia on August 31, 1957, a son of the late Earl Jackson Fretwell and Edith May (Mayo) Fretwell.

Barry retired from Harold Alexander Construction and enjoyed spending time in nature, farming, and animals.

Surviving, is his companion of fifty years, Janice; three sisters, Teresa M. Hailey and her husband, Preston of Stuarts Draft, Diana M. McCormick and her husband, Owen, Jr. of Verona, and Lillian K. Fretwell of Staunton; and a brother, Norman J. Fretwell and his wife, Anita of Brightwood, VA.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Sherando Community Church by Pastor Billy Coffey.

The family will receive friends following the service.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
