Barbara (Wilt) Pennington, 58, wife of Larry James Pennington, of Stuarts Draft, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at the Shenandoah House in Fishersville.

Mrs. Pennington was born in Waynesboro, Virginia on April 3, 1965 a daughter of Doris Ann (Harris) Wilt and the late Robert Allen Wilt.

Barbara was employed at Weaver Insurance for many years. She enjoyed traveling to the beach, gardening, flowers, being outdoors and in nature. Barbara loved Christmas, thrift shopping, collecting and reading books, and most of all, her grandson.

In addition to her father, Mrs. Pennington is preceded in death by her step-father, Ray Dameron.

Surviving, in addition to her mother and husband of thirty-one years, are two daughters, Lauren Gilmer and her husband, Dylan, and Rachel Pennington; a grandson, Decklan "Ducky" Gilmer; brothers, Timothy Allen Wilt and his wife, Dawn, and Eric Dameron; a sister, Melinda Sue Reid and her husband, Chris; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 23, 2023 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastors Ronnie Harris and Dustin Gilmer.

Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Brian Meek, Darrell Meek, David Meek, Todd Reed, Kevin Harris, and Bryan Zimmerman.

The family would like to express a sincere "Thank you" to the staff at University of Virginia's oncology department and the staff at Augusta Health and the radiology department.
