Barbara (Wagner) Lawrence, 76, wife of Michael Dale Lawrence of 806 Moore Street passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016 at her residence.
Mrs. Lawrence was born on September 6, 1940 in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Robert, Sr. and Ida (Davis) Wagner.
Barbara was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church and was retired from Augusta Co-Op Farm Bureau where she was employed as a secretary. Mrs. Lawrence enjoyed her flower gardens, making crafts and especially spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lawrence was preceded in death by a son, Joe Bailey Smiley, Jr. and two brothers, Frank Wagner and Tommy Wagner.
Surviving in addition to her husband of forty years are two daughters, June Smiley of Staunton and Michele (Lawrence) Batten and her husband Chuck of Stuarts Draft; five sisters, Charlotte Swortzel of Staunton, Sue Reese of Greenville, Frances Hartzog and husband Kenneth of Staunton, Rebecca Bream and husband Frank of Charlottesville and Virginia Simmons of Waynesboro; three brothers, Robert Wagner, Jr. and wife Barbara of Florida, Charles Wagner and wife Betsy of Dublin, Georgia and John Wagner and wife Sandy of Spokane, Washington; six grandchildren, R.L. May, Jacob Smiley, Justin Smiley, Ashlyn Wolfe, Troy Wolfe and Keeghan Batten; two great-grandchildren, Lily May and Lucy May; a dear friend, Judy Allen; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2016 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence or the home of her daughter, June Smiley.
A Graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2016 in Oaklawn Memory Gardens by Pastor Don McClure.
