Barbara Jane (Via) Campbell, 71, wife of Bobby G. Campbell, of 2406 Park Hill Road passed away, Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at her residence.
Mrs. Campbell was born in Augusta Springs on February 2, 1938 a daughter of the late George F. Sr., and Virginia (Clark) Via.
Barbara attended Calvary Baptist Church when her health allowed. She was a great mother to her children and a wonderful grandmother. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and enjoyed Sunday evening rides with her husband looking for deer and other wildlife.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, Dalton Hupman and Haley Campbell.
Survivors in addition to her husband, to whom she was married on September 1, 1952, are four sons and two daughters-in-law, Dr. Bernie Campbell and his wife, Pam of Atlanta, GA, Pastor Bobby A. Campbell and his wife, Patti of Churchville, Wayne S. Campbell, Sr. of Mt. Solon and Raider W. Campbell and his fiance Kimberly Helmick of Staunton; a daughter, Fay Bryant and her fianc Michael Eutsler of Staunton; a brother, Jackie Via of Taylorsville, NC; a sister, Peggy Crone of Fort Myers, FL; twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren also survive.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2009 in Thornrose Cemetery by Barbaras son, Pastor Bobby A. Campbell.
The family will receive friends 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday evening, July 23, 2009 in the Coffman Funeral Home and other times at her residence.
Active pallbearers are Keith Slagle, Denny Lowery, Tommy Campbell, Steve Wimer, J.C. Bryant, Richie Campbell, Scottie Campbell, Jr. and Bernie Campbell.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
