Arthur Dale Kennedy, 81, husband of Chantal Maryvonne (de Montcassin) Kennedy of Staunton, Virginia, passed from this world and into the presence of his savior Jesus Christ on January 25, 2022 at his residence.

Dale Kennedy was born in Mingo, Ohio on April 7, 1940, the son of the late Francis Marion Kennedy and Jenny Jeannette (Orahood) Kennedy.

After graduating from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, he joined the United States Air Force and achieved the rank of captain.  While stationed in Germany, he met Chantal, leading to their loving marriage of 51 years.  After his honorable discharge, Dale began his second career in the information technology field for universities, including Lamar University, Mary Baldwin College and most recently, James Madison University.  Throughout his life Dale was anchored by his faith in Jesus, active in church ministry, and loved participating in church and local choirs.  Dale and Chantal were most recently members of Staunton Orthodox Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Kennedy was preceded in death by his brother Malcolm Kennedy and his sister, Darlene (Kennedy) Scott, and his infant daughter, Nathalie.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three children, Joel Kennedy of Charlottesville, Danila (Kennedy) Woolley and her husband Joshua of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Kevin Kennedy and wife Rachel of Virginia Beach and eight grandchildren.

Burial will be private in Culpeper National Cemetery.

A Memorial Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Staunton Grace Covenant Church.
