Arthur Eugene "Gene" Wade, age 87, husband of Mary "Alice" (McClung) Wade, of Greenville, Virginia passed away of natural causes in his home on Sunday, July 16, 2023.

Mr. Wade was born on June 12, 1936 at Estaline Valley, Augusta County, Virginia.

He was second of three children born to Nora Etta Fridley and Arthur Bell Wade. His family home was at Estaline Valley.

Gene served in the United States Air Force, retired from Smith's Transfer, and later G.E.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Patrick Wade.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Frances Wade Shipman; two children, Ramona Savidge and Michael Wade; two step-children, Troy Randall Pusey and Tracie Renea Hedrick; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2023 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Dennis Taylor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Augusta Health Foundation, c/o Hospice of the Shenandoah, P.O. Box 1000, Fishersville, Virginia 22939.
