Arlene Virginia (Jackson) Lovegrove, 79, widow of Jimmy Roger "Jim" Lovegrove, of William Cousins Road, passed away Monday, July 30, 2018 in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, while visiting her son.

Mrs. Lovegrove was born on September 16, 1938 in Rockbridge County, Virginia, a daughter of the late Floyd and Marie (Kirkpatrick) Jackson.

Arlene was a member of the Stonewall Methodist Church, she was self-employed owner / operator of the Misty Grove Green Houses and was previously employed by Safeway as a store manager for twenty years. Arlene enjoyed watching NASCAR, she was an avid Jeff Gordon fan, she liked to garden, raise flowers and care for her pet dogs, "Joy" and "Molly", and her horse, "Big Switch."

In addition to her parents and husband of forty-eight years, Mrs. Lovegrove was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Wayne "Sonny" Jackson.

Surviving is a son, Dr. Patrick Scott Lovegrove and his wife Andrea of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Aria Lovegrove and Matteo Lovegrove; a sister, Geraldine J. Potter of Staunton; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 3, 2018 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

A Celebration of life will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Andrew Salcedo and Mr. Kenneth McCoy.

Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro.
