Anne Coleman Knopp, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away September 20, 2021. Anne was born in Richmond, Virginia, on May 11, 1952.
Her parents were "Click" Hugh Lynwood Coleman and Virginia Love Coleman.
Anne set an example for her children Paul, Michael, Isaac and Andrew of loving well and serving the least of these. A generous and humble woman, Anne expressed herself through her creativity, especially her artwork. She was quick to laugh and forgive, offering much grace to those around her. A sensitive and caring mother to not only her four boys, she extended love and acceptance to anyone that had need. Anne graduated from Park View High School near South Hill, VA, in 1970 and received her undergraduate degree from Mary Baldwin College in 1974. During that time she met her husband John C. Knopp through a bible study at his parents' home. They were married July 31, 1976. Anne attended James Madison University where she received her Masters in Education in 2004. She was devoted to her students over the course of many years of teaching in the public school system, at Grace Christian School, and at the Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind.
Anne was a member of Community Fellowship Church in Staunton, Virginia. As a follower of her Savior Jesus Christ, foremost in her heart were her husband of 45 years, her children and their families.
She is survived by her husband John and sons Paul (Nancy), Michael (Jen), Isaac (Lyndsay), and Andrew (Sara). Grandchildren include grandsons Eli, Jeremiah, Terrance, Ellis, Hugo, Daniel and one more on the way. Granddaughters are Denise, Ariah, Bren, and Ruby. She is also survived by a brother Michael Coleman (Diane) and a sister Kay Gwaltney (Charles).
