Anna Elizabeth Thompson, 92, widow of Hubert Thompson, of Staunton, passed away on Saturday June 11, 2022 at her residence.

Mrs. Thompson was born in Churchville, Virginia on April 15, 1930, a daughter of the late William Smith and Bertie Lee (Snyder) Smith.

Anna attended the Churchville School and was the oldest member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Churchville. She taught Sunday school for many years and served on the Church Council.

Mrs. Thompson was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by a son, Hubert Daniel Thompson; a grandson, Christopher Todd Parmer; a son-in-law, Ron Parmer; two brothers, William Roy Smith and Marshall Lee Smith; and two sisters, Nora Virginia (Roberts) Perry and Lillie Ruby Harris.

Surviving, are two daughters, Connie Ann (Thompson) Parmer and Lesia Hall Lowery; three grandchildren, Stefanie Ann Parmer, Renee Ricks, and Amanda Wolfe; and six great-grandchildren, Garrett Paul, Emma Paige Parmer, Kailey Marie Parmer, Hailey and Shena Ricks, and Sarah Wolfe; and a number of nieces, nephews and special friends.

A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Oaklawn Memory Gardens by Pastor Rodney Ronneberg and Pastor Bill Cole.

Active Pallbearers are Mark Nelson, Anthony Coyner, Shayne Coyner, Marty Harris, Alvin Bosserman, and Matthew Paul.

Honorary Pallbearers are John Cole, Bobby Harris, William Harris, Tommy Harris, Jason Harris, Johnny Harris, Keith Bosserman, and John Nevarez.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
